A virtual event offers participants than cannot make it to an event or if an event is cancelled the opportunity to do the distance remotely.
Yes, Sportstats will provide the option to upload a .gpx file or manual results
Yes we will produce full results and rank you with your peers. Because there is no way to verify everyone’s results and you will be running on different courses on different days the rankings are NOT official and no awards will be given.
There is no plan to offer awards but Sportstats is working closely with several sponsors to offer draw prizes within all participants.
This offers an event the opportunity to bring everyone together but to keep the social distancing that the current situation dictates.
Each event will offer a submission window. We understand that everyone’s timeline is different and most events will have 2-4 weeks to upload results.
The results will be final after the final day of submission, results will be dynamic during the process.
The cost is included and part of your entry fee, there will be NO additional cost for you to participate in the Virtual Race.
Sportstats wants to make sure that you are not a robot and that there is a real person participating. We will not sell or distribute the list and you will have the option to opt out of monthly newsletters.
Some events will offer this to each runner and this information will be communicated to you. Some will be mailed out, some will offer pickup in different locations.
95% of the funds from events are often spent weeks or months before the event event occurs, from permits to vendor deposits to t-shirts, medals etc. If the event were to refund everyone they would simply not survive. Most events however will offer a deferral for another event the same year or the following year.

At this time we can only accept GPX format files. We hope to add other formats at a later time.
You can complete the upload process as many times as you would like during the period of time your virtual race is open for submissions. The result that will appear will always be your newest uploaded result no matter if it is a faster or slower time.
Your time can take up to 2 minutes to appear in the results once you have uploaded them. If you still don't see them at that point feel free to contact our support team: Suport Site
With the exception of the Sportstats Virtual triathlon please contact the race organization for information on how to register.
You can register for the Sportstats Virtual Triathlon here: Sportstats Virtual Triathlon
The triathlon or duathlon results must be uploaded in different files - one for each leg of the race. We cannot accept a gpx file that includes multiple legs of the multisport event at this time.
You can upload a swim time from a pool or open water using a gpx file or a manual upload anytime the triathlon is open throughout the month of May. We understand that some participants may not have access to a place to swim depending on where they are located. If you do not have access to a place to swim we recommend you register in any of the three virtual duathlon distances.
You can check the event listing on our site, if we have details they will be listed. Otherwise, please check the official race site or contact the race organizer.
You can add photos using our My Media page. Once you are logged in, open your dashboard and click on my media. You can click on add media to add any pictures from your virtual race.
If your event has the connect with strava option you will see an orange button for this when you click on submit results. The first time you click on connect with Strava you will be prompted to authorize ss-vr to connect to strava as well as need to login to your strava account. Once your strava account is connected you will be able to select your race and segment and import the strava activity of your choice.
